True lovers of the 911 know the sublime restomod signed RUF or Singer. But here is a lesser-known specialist in the discipline presenting his latest creation. The Theon ITA001 follows the usual recipe, which consists of starting from a still relatively recent generation of the 911, and modernizing the mechanics on the one hand, while going back a little further in the past. In this case, the Theon looks like a Porsche 911 from the Sixties, but is based on a 964 generation (1988-1994), the penultimate to feature an air-cooled engine.

Ultra light

Under the hood, we find the Flat 6 3.8 liters used at the time by the Carrera RS version. In its most powerful version, it developed 300 hp at 6,500 rpm, and 360 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm. After some "modifications" made by Theon Design, this engine (still associated with a 5-speed manual gearbox) is increased to 400 hp at 7,500 rpm, and 427 Nm at 6,250 rpm. And that's not all that makes the ITA001 faster than its inspiration. Because the body is entirely made of carbon, and the car weighs just 1,152 kg, 130 kg less than the Carrera RS of 1994.

Finally, the cabin benefits of course from an extremely refined treatment, which respects the look of the 60s, while offering modern equipment, such as a Focal HiFi system, current Recaro seats and a Bluetooth connection. The price? I have no idea. But as they say in these cases: "If you have to ask, it is because you do not have the means".
