At that time, we had attended a rather grandiose (and probably very expensive) event, with which Cupra celebrated its 4 years of existence. On this occasion, the young manufacturer, which was initially supposed to be the group's sports brand (before becoming the ET electric sports brand), also presented its plans for the future. Scaling up

And now, today, the figures simultaneously reveal a big rise in power of Cupra (+93% in 2022 compared to 2021), and a virtual collapse of Seat (-40%). Out of a total of 385,600 sales of the two brands, Cupra already wins 153,800. However, no new model is announced for Seat, and especially no electric model. The trend is therefore not about to reverse. This intuition that we had in June 2022 is now a little stronger: VW is betting big on Cupra, and will let Seat disappear discreetly. Unless we don't know everything yet. Unless Seat becomes "something else". The answer next month, at a big press conference to be held in Munich.
