The Director of the Electronic Services and Communications Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, Colonel Dr. Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Ahmad, said that the security surveillance cameras in the "Himaya" system, deployed in commercial establishments in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, are not exclusively to monitor crimes and thefts, and provide safety, but they are considered one of the legally fair factors for people, by proving evidence of a person when the event or crime occurs, and security surveillance cameras are considered part of justice, and may remove suspicion from others at the site of the event.

He explained that surveillance cameras in homes are very important, but with no exaggeration in installing them in a large number of homes, with a focus on specific angles in the house, to install cameras in them, and added that the installation of two cameras in front of the house and the same in the external yard of the house, is sufficient to conduct electronic surveillance.

During his hosting of the Watchful Eye Program, organized by the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police, he pointed out the importance of the role played by the Hemaya system, in maintaining and enhancing security and safety, and monitoring facilities through advanced modern cameras, stressing the presence of more than 180,<> cameras in facilities across the emirate, which are considered as the eye of the police to ensure security and safety, and achieve reassurance for all members of society.

He added that the surveillance cameras with a protection system include the most prominent and latest technologies, according to the highest international standards, while ensuring continuous access to the latest technologies in this field, to keep pace with these developments, by participating in specialized exhibitions, to ensure the provision of the best service.

He stated that Ras Al Khaimah Police has a strategic partnership with the Public Resources Authority, where each entity plays an integrated role with the second entity, to achieve the best results and provide the highest levels of distinguished service, explaining that the protection system has proven remarkably effective since its application about seven years ago, in reducing the occurrence of crime, and providing accurate recordings in facilities that enhance police and security work.

For his part, Engineer Abdullah Al Shehhi, Director of the Inspection Branch at the Public Resources Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, pointed out that the number of cameras of the protection system reached 180,836 cameras, including 115,621 internal cameras distributed over 23,550 facilities in Ras Al Khaimah.

He explained that the number of service providers for the Hemaya program reached 120 licensed companies practicing the installation and maintenance of the system, after they passed all the requirements for this, as they are approved in cooperation with the General Headquarters of Ras Al Khaimah Police, indicating that the authority provides a variety of electronic and digital services to serve service providers and users from the owners of establishments, aimed at saving time and effort on them, facilitating the follow-up of the technical status of the system and solving any emergency technical problems.

He added that the authority recently launched the "Fetch" initiative, which includes 11 employees, including nine male and two female employees, where inspections were conducted on all facilities, within the Hemaya system, within 40 days, to confirm their commitment to implementing the protection system.
