Experts at the Russian Quantum Center announced that it is not unlikely that self-awareness of artificial intelligence will emerge during the next decade.

TASS quoted the co-founder of the center, Ruslan Yunusov, as saying: “Artificial intelligence will possess self-awareness not only on quantum computers, but also on classical computers equipped with silicon processors,” noting that “building artificial intelligence capable of self-realization will actually happen.” In the event that the power of the computing system is doubled and the efficiency of the mathematical algorithms used in reading and processing data is doubled.”

The Future Technologies Forum, which will be held in Moscow on the 13th and 14th of February, will discuss the development of quantum computers that process data with extreme speed and accuracy, and are somewhat similar to the associative model of the human brain.
