The Russian space agency Roscosmos announced the start of testing a prototype of a new space rocket from the new Angara rockets.
RT quoted the agency as saying in a statement: "Vostochny space airport is preparing to test a life-size model of the new Angara rockets."
The statement added: "The specialists transported the missile model and put it on the transport and installation unit and transported it to the launch pad and it has passed all the required initial tests and that the comprehensive tests will continue for about a month."
The prototype rocket was manufactured at Russia's Ballot Space Industry Center and is intended to test the technologies and equipment that Russia will later use in the modified Angara A5 rockets and to test the capabilities of the launchers at Vostochny Airport to launch these rockets.
