Fifty-four hours and thirty minutes: That's how long it took a player to complete Diablo IV. The so-called Rob2628 has broken a record by reaching level 100 faster than everyone else in Blizzard's video game, expected for years, reports Numerama.

It took him three times less time than expected to finish the game. Indeed, the associate director of the studio in charge of Diablo IV had said that it would take an average of 150 hours for an average player to complete the new opus.

The champion of hardcore mode still awaited

To accomplish his feat, Rob2628 chose a character from the barbarian class, expert in hand-to-hand combat. He played an entire weekend, stopping for only eight hours to sleep. The gamer played in the softcore mode, in which the character is resurrected with each death and which therefore allows to be more daring.

In the hardcore mode, the character really dies and the player then has to start again at level 0 with a new character, which seriously complicates the task. Note that the competition to see who will finish the video game in hardcore mode is still ongoing, says Numerama.

A game not even released yet

Rob2628 also benefited from the help of a group, including logistics, fights and bonuses. The community of "Diablo" and gaming in general still hailed this feat, especially since it was achieved... while Diablo IV is still not officially released to the general public.

The game will not be released until Tuesday. However, it was already available for early purchase since Friday for players with a premium membership. Many people have already been able to move forward in the adventure, which will be enriched with future extensions.
