Just out, already finished. Last Friday, a few hours after the release of the highly anticipated "Tears of the Kingdom", the new opus of the saga "The Legend of Zelda", a player known as gymnast86 published on YouTube a video of him finishing the video game in just 1h34 and 33 seconds, reports Videogames Chronicle relayed by BFM Tech & Co.

A first speed record for this new Nintendo game that should attract many fans of "speedrun", this competitive practice where you have to finish a game as quickly as possible.

A freedom to exploit

Indeed, just like "Breath of the Wild", the previous Zelda episode released on Switch in 2017, "Tears of the Kingdom" both offers several hundred hours of potential content to players, and also gives them great freedom. Already at the time, "Breath of the Wild" had aroused the interest of many speedrun enthusiasts, who had fun looking for all possible bugs and shortcuts to lower time and finish the game.

Same thing, a priori, for this new Zelda, but with a whole course to recreate. Indeed, as stated by gymnast86, who had already practiced a lot of speedrun on the previous opus, "none of the exploitable bugs" in the courses used on the first game could be found in "Tears of the Kingdom".

Records to break

In order to invite players to get involved in the race for the record, gymnast86 also published a second video in which he described his method. "The strategies I used will be obsolete very quickly, so if you watch this video a few days after it was published, remember to look for new information," he said.

While some players will try to break his record, others will try to get others by imposing constraints, such as having to finish the game without taking shortcuts. Like "Breath of the Wild", we should in any case find "Tears of the Kingdom" at the next charity events dedicated to speedruns.
