Elon Musk, who aims to make Twitter an application "to do everything", announced on Tuesday that it would soon be possible to make audio and video calls from the platform.

"Audio and video chats will soon be added from your account to any user on this platform, allowing you to talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number," he tweeted. Twitter would thus offer a tool similar to those already available on Instagram and Facebook networks in particular.

Deploying encrypted messages

The multibillionaire, who bought the platform for $ 44 billion at the end of October, also plans to deploy this Wednesday the ability to encrypt private messages. "This system will quickly become more sophisticated," he wrote.
