Let's get rid of the subject without further delay: the Defender will be produced in only 30 copies. And to get one, you will have to pay € 260,000 for the short version 90, or € 278,000 for the long version 110. Yes, that's the price of a top-of-the-range Bentley Bentley or new Range Rover. But in our opinion, this Defender collector is a better investment. And what's special about it, exactly? Fans of the Land Rover, who know its history like the back of their hand, have already spotted a clue in the name.

Place of birth

Isley is the name of a Scottish island, where Mr. Wilks owned an estate. Mr. Wilks was the boss of Rover, and it was there, on a beach on the island, that the idea for the Land Rover was born. This is also where man has used a Land Rover Serie II for years, and it is this vehicle that serves as inspiration for this new special edition. To do this, the Land Rover Classic branch bought 30 Defender Works V8s (another limited edition produced between 2012 and 2016), restored them from top to bottom, and dressed them as was the Land of Wilks: Heritage Grey paint, contrasting roof, and Limestone sheet metal wheels.

On the front wing is applied a decoration that resumes the registration of Mr. Wilks' vehicle. Inside, the main features are tweed inserts on the doors, center armrest and seats, as well as a wooden trunk floor. There is also an explanatory leaflet telling the birth of the name "Land Rover".

Finally, under the hood, we have a 8.5-liter V0 of 405 hp and 515 Nm, associated with an 8-speed auto gearbox. Rest assured, the rest of the 4x4 transmission is still "old-fashioned". On the other hand, suspension and braking have been adapted to the engine, which propels this Defender from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 6 seconds. However, the top speed is limited to 170 km/h.
