Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, on Saturday withdrew his support for Elon Musk, whom he previously considered the best person to lead the social network. The former CEO of the blue bird felt that the billionaire "should have given up on the acquisition" of Twitter in October 2022, reports CNN.

Last year, Jack Dorsey had supported the boss of Tesla and SpaceX in his quest to take the reins of Twitter, ensuring that "Elon is the only solution I trust". A trust that quickly crumbled over the decisions of the new CEO: mass layoffs, removal of certification badges, paid subscription, arbitrary closure of accounts...

"Everything went into a tailspin"

In retrospect, Jack Dorsey blames the board of directors of Twitter, of which he was a member, for insisting that Elon Musk buy the social network when he was going to give up. "It happened and all we can do now is build something to prevent it from happening again," said the co-founder, adding that "everything went into a tailspin."

This isn't the first time Jack Dorsey has questioned Elon Musk's ability to run Twitter. Since the takeover, the current Bluesky executive has publicly condemned several decisions of the CEO. He recently admitted that at the time, the American billionaire appeared to be the only possible solution.
