Information that will delight public transport users. Citymapper announced on Tuesday on its website that it was ending its paid plans: all the features of the application are now free.

Until now, the route calculation platform offered a very extensive free version but also two paid formulas, at 29.99 and 99.99 euros per year, reports Phonandroid. These two offers allowed access to more advanced features on the application, such as customizing the criteria for a route.

More advanced search criteria

These features are now available to everyone. With the latest update, Citymapper users can select specific modes of transport for a route, request to walk as little as possible, limit the number of connections or sort the results by speed or price.

Some options are only available to users of smartphones running iOS or Android. Overall, it is in any case likely that this general free will further boost the popularity of the application, which has been competing strongly with Google Maps in recent years among users.
