SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon 9 Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

It will place telecommunications satellites from ViaSat, Astranis and Gravity Space in orbit. Elon Musk's space company had postponed the launch three times, the last Friday, just 59 seconds before the start, without giving details on the reasons. Then the launch window from ramp 39 of the Kennedy Space Center opened at 2.26 Italian time and the launch was carried out an hour later.

Today is the sixth flight of the Falcon 9 Heavy since 2018.

It is, according to SpaceX, "one of the most powerful carriers in the world" and can carry up to 64 tons of cargo. 70 meters long and 12 meters wide, it is equipped with two thrusters that separate after launch, together with the first stage, which is recoverable. The three satellites it carries will be placed in geostationary orbit 35,000 kilometers from Earth. The largest of the three is the ViaSat-3 Americas, weighing 5.4 tons and the size of a school bus.
The other two are Arcturus, from Astranis, weighing just over 300 kilos, and GS-1, a cubesat, operated by Gravity Space.
