By 2033, two years before the supposed ban on combustion engines in Europe, VW will only offer electric models in its range. And among these, there will be this ID.2 presented yesterday in concept form and which will go into production in 2025. Like the future electric Renault 5 (and the Dacia Spring), the objective of this ID.2 is to make electric mobility accessible with a (basic) tariff set at less than €25,000.

Charged in 20 minutes

Similar in size to the current Polo, the ID.2 will feature a single electric motor and will be a traction (unlike the ID.3). VW announces a power of 226 hp and a range of 450 km. Twenty minutes should be enough to recharge the battery from 10 to 80% on a high-power terminal. As livable as a Golf, the ID.2 will offer a large trunk of 490 liters and will have a route planner specific to electric cars.
