Lexus will not immediately market its "Yoke" steering wheel. You know, this "half-flying", introduced in world premiere by Tesla on its Model S? In addition to offering different ergonomics than conventional steering wheels, it is also more precise. Because instead of a steering column as on most cars, the Yoke steering wheel is connected electronically, by cable. A feat that allows in half a stroke of the steering wheel to turn the wheels entirely, while a classic rack requires up to two complete turns of the steering wheel!

"We want the system to be perfect"

An aesthetic and technical innovation, therefore, that Lexus must introduce in its new 100% electric SUV RZ. Problem, its development takes longer than expected, so that for the time being customers will have to settle for a classic circular steering wheel. Toyota's premium brand wants to be reassuring, preferring to wait a little longer and make the last necessary adjustments. Lexus' product director recently said: "There's no problem, we just want the system to be perfect. As it is a new, pioneering technology, we still need to refine it."
