The inhabitants of Valence (Drôme) are invited to be vigilant. This Wednesday, the Facebook account of the town hall warned its residents of a scam circulating on the social network, reports Le Dauphiné.

A Facebook account posing as the City of Valencia has indeed created a publication offering to participate in a competition "to attend the France championships at the City of Climbing". Problem: to play, you had to communicate your bank details.

The fake account reported

"None of our contests or Facebook posts require you to provide us with banking data," the real City of Valencia recalled on the social network. The post has since been removed and the town hall has flagged the fraudulent account.

The City has also invited potential victims who have transmitted their personal data to contact their bank as soon as possible. In the event of a suspicious transaction on the bank account, a complaint can be filed with the police station.
