Corinthians announces the dismissal of Menezes after a disastrous start in the league

Corinthians announced the dismissal of its coach Mano Menezes after a poor start to the season with four tough defeats in four games in the Paulista League.

A brief statement issued by the club read: “Corinthians announces that Mano Menezes is no longer coach of the men’s first team.”

Menezes, who coached the Brazilian national team between 2010 and 2012, thus ends his third era as coach of Corinthians.

The coach only led the team in twenty matches during this era.

Menezes began coaching the team in September, succeeding Vanderlei Luxmorjo, at the end of last season and signed a contract until the end of 2025.

However, the management decided to sack him due to a miserable start to the season, and the point that ended with the cup was a three-to-one defeat by lowly Novorizontino in the Paulista League.
