Shabab Al Ahli team arrives at eight o'clock in the evening, today, as a guest of the Qatari north, in the opening of the second group of the "West Asian Super Championship" basketball for the Gulf region.

Shabab Al Ahli returns to participate in the tournament for the second consecutive season, after a fruitful participation last year in the first edition, during which the "Basketball Knights" succeeded in crossing to the final rounds, in a tournament that will be held in the preliminary round of the group league system of two round-robin stages, for both groups of the Gulf and West Asian regions.

Shabab Al Ahli competes in the second group of the Gulf region, which includes next to the north of Qatar, the defending champion of the first edition Manama of Bahrain, and Kazma of Kuwait, while the first group of the same region includes Kuwait of Kuwait, Ahli Jeddah of Saudi Arabia, Al Rayyan of Qatar, and Muharraq of Bahrain.

Shabab Al Ahli are looking to face newcomers to the tournament Al Shamal Qatar, to record a strong start and repeat the performance they made in last year's edition, when they succeeded in taking the lead in the first leg of the preliminary round.

Shabab Al Ahly coach Walid Zreida relies on experience elements in the opening match, led by brothers Said and Mohamed Mubarak, along with international Kais Omar and American professional Nicholas Minrath.

The task of the UAE league champion seems difficult to pass the kick off of the second edition, in light of the convergence of technical levels that unite him with the Qatari north, which includes many elements of experience that led its team to finish the Qatari league for the last season in the runner-up position, and behind them are high-level foreign professionals, including American James Harris, who showed high scoring rates in his last match in the middle of this month against Al Sadd, and won the title of the best scorer in the match with 22 points.
