There will soon be little left of the staff of the XV of France. After Les Bleus' early elimination from their World Cup at home to the Springboks, and while coach Fabien Galthié will continue the adventure, his team is about to be thoroughly reshuffled.

After the departures of Karim Ghezal and Laurent Labit to Stade Français, it is Rafael Ibanez's turn to take a step back. If Galthié's right-hand man must remain in the fold of the France team, he will, according to information from Midi Olympique, occupy a "more transversal role" within the French Rugby Federation, while his contract as general manager ran until 2028.

Next meeting next February

According to Eurosport, the relationship between Galthié and his loyal sidekick, who used to accompany him regularly to press conferences, was strained during the World Cup, which would explain the last-minute turnaround. The next events of this new-look XV of France, without its star Antoine Dupont, who will join the France rugby 7s team in preparation for the Olympic Games, will only begin early next year, with the reception of Ireland on February 2 as part of the Six Nations tournament.
