The methods of OGC Nice version Ineos are starting to annoy in Ligue 1. After Lens, who had regretted the way in which its sporting director Florent Ghisolfi had been recruited just after the launch of the season, Lorient denounces this Friday the offensive led on its coach, Régis Le Bris.

Threat of sanctions

Appointed last summer for a first coaching position, Le Bris is under contract in Brittany until 2027. However, the leaders of Nice have negotiated with him without notifying him, accuses FC Lorient, already scalded by the departure of their striker Terem Moffi in the last days of the winter transfer window.

"They behaved badly in January. I had received an apology from the boss of Ineos on the Terem Moffi case. They reiterate today and had acted in the same way with RC Lens, "said president Loïc Féry in a statement from the club. The latter wrote to the Nice club to "remind it of its obligations to respect article 211 of the administrative regulations of the LFP" (which requires to notify in writing the club from which one intends to buy someone under contract), and ensures to consider seizing the League and FIFA to "denounce the repeated practices of OGC Nice and ask for sanctions against the club".

For his part, Régis Le Bris has warned his president of his desire to leave the club this summer. This was not accepted by the leader. "Régis Le Bris told me a few days before the last match of the season because he was wondering to be at the end of a cycle with FC Lorient. He asked me to open the door for a departure, which surprised me deeply, says Loïc Féry in the same press release. I reminded him that he had just extended and that I was counting on him. He was aware that he was under contract with the club and he also knew that if I did not open the door, no departure would be possible. »

So here is Lorient in a dead end, with a coach he wants to keep after his good 10th place in Ligue 1 this season but who for his part no longer has the flame. In such cases, it is difficult to imagine an outcome that pleases all parties.
