Al-Nawair and Al-Jaish teams qualified for the final match of the Republic Cup men's basketball competition after defeating Al-Ittihad Al-Ahli Aleppo and Al-Wahda in the semi-final matches that were held today at Al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.

In the first match, Al-Nouaer managed to achieve a difficult victory over Al-Ittihad Ahli Aleppo with a score of 90-82 points.

Al-Nawaer advanced in the first quarter by 17-14 points, while the result of the second quarter came in favor of Al-Ahli by 22-19 points, and Al-Nawair was able to advance in the third quarter by one point to end with 21-20 points, and Al-Ahli was able to impose a draw at the end of the fourth quarter, which ended with a score of 19-18 points, to extend the match an additional half characterized by excitement and mutual attacks between the two teams and reliance on errors, to end by 15-7 points in favor of Al-Nawair and qualify for the final match for the first time in its history.

In the second game, Al-Jaish defeated Al-Wahda 89-85 points.

The results of the first three quarters in the match, which witnessed excitement and convergence in level in favor of the army by 23-22 points, 25-24 points and 22-17 points, while the last quarter came in favor of Al-Wahda with 22-19 points, to lose the match by four points.

Army coach Haitham Gemayel praised in a statement to SANA the great performance of Al-Wahda team, and the collective performance of the army players who were able to fill all the gaps in cooperation with professionals, especially the Tunisian professional Omar Abada, who in turn expressed his deep happiness to play with the army club, noting the team's collective performance.

Winger Rami Morgana pointed out that the team followed the offensive tactics and shooting from beyond the arc and benefited from the experience of foreign players, in addition to the teamwork that led to the victory.

It is noteworthy that the final match will be held next Sunday at the Fayhaa Sports City in Damascus.
