Mahmoud Al-Khatib is victorious again. Mortada Mansour Imprisonment

Egyptian media reported that the Cairo Economic Court sentenced Zamalek Club President Mortada Mansour, who was sentenced to dismissal from office, to 3 months in prison on charges of insulting and defaming Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of Al-Ahly Club, in a new case No. 728 of 2023 Cairo Economic Misdemeanors.

The Egyptian newspaper Al-Shorouk published the text of the court's verdict against Mortada Mansour, as follows:

Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek club, imprisoned 3 months on charges of insulting and defaming Mahmoud Khatib, president of Al-Ahly Club, and the verdict included fining Mortada Mansour 20 thousand pounds, 10 thousand pounds temporary civil compensation, and 10 thousand pounds bail to suspend the implementation of the penalty until an appeal is filed against the ruling.

The Public Prosecution referred Mortada to trial to punish him according to 6 articles of the Penal Code and an article in the Telecommunications Regulation Law, after investigating the communication submitted by Mohamed Othman, legal advisor to Al-Ahly Club and Mahmoud Al-Khatib's lawyer.

The prosecution charged Mortada Mansour that on August 18, 2022, in the Agouza Department, he publicly slandered the victim Mahmoud Ibrahim Ibrahim Al-Khatib, by assigning him things that, if true, would have necessitated his contempt among the people of his country and punished him legally.

The prosecution continued that this was during a telephone intervention for the program "Zamalkawi" broadcast live on Zamalek channel and available to everyone to see, as well as the video clip published on the Zamalek channel on the social networking site YouTube.

The prosecution also assigned to the former president of Zamalek club that he publicly insulted the aforementioned victim, by addressing it with words and phrases offensive to his honor and consideration, through a telephone intervention for the program, and the video clip published on the Zamalek channel on the social networking site YouTube referred to as the previous accusation.

In the third charge, the prosecution charged Mansour with deliberately annoying and harassing the victim by misusing telecommunications equipment by committing the crimes in question of the previous two charges.
