Rashid bin Hamdan crowns winners of 32nd edition titles

With the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Al Nasr Club, crowned the crew of the ship «Nimran 211» for its owner Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, led by Nokhitha Ali Al Marzouqi, as the champion of the 32nd edition of the Al Gaffal long-distance race for local 60-foot sailing ships, and is the second coronation for the ship after it had caught the 2021 title.
Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored the crew of the ship «Tuff 9» for its owner Mohammed Rashid Al Rumaithi, led by Nokhitha Yousef Al Hammadi, which won second place in the race, as well as the third place crew of the ship «Zelzal 25» for its owner Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, led by Nokhitha Marwan Al Marzouqi, and the fourth-place crew of the ship «Al Udeid 30» for its owner Mohammed Rashid Musabah Al Rumaithi, led by his son Nokhitha Rashid, and the fifth place crew of the ship «Al-Shaqi 96» for its owner, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, led by Al Nokhitha Khalaf Al Marri.
The race, which was preceded by a great challenge for the organizing committee and the participants in overcoming the volatile atmosphere of the Arabian ginning, as the committee succeeded in choosing the appropriate date to come a successful start amid appropriate wind speeds with the participation of 125 ships that gathered off Sir Bu Nair Island and raised their white sails sailing towards Moon Island, the first finish line for a distance of up to 26 nautical miles, covered by the ship's crew many 30 first arrivals in a time of 02.18.03 hours.
After that, a decisive stage began in the struggle for the precious title, where the wind speeds varied and the experiences of the people of the sea and Al-Nawakhada appeared, to change the calculations in the foreground and more than one competitor appeared to kidnap the crew of the ship Nimran 211 Al-Namoos, setting a new record time in the races for the locksmith by recording a time of 04.45.10 hours

Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the great support enjoyed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and his interest in continuing the event, which was inaugurated by the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 1991.
Al Nasr Club President Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Media Office, congratulated the owner of the Nimran 211 for the victory and coronation for the second time in the last three seasons, praising the efforts of Nokhitha and the ship's crew during the stages of the long race and topped the closing scene with a time of 4:45:10 hours.
Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum also congratulated the Higher Organizing Committee and the supervisor of the race and the Dubai International Marine Club for organizing the wonderful event, which is the conclusion of the marine sports season 2022-2023 and is held in conjunction with the club's celebration of the Coral Jubilee and the 35th anniversary of its establishment.
