Christophe Galtier will sell his skin dearly. The French coach has just won his second France league title in three years (2021 with Lille, 2023 with PSG) and said, after the draw against Strasbourg, that he has no reason to leave the Paris Saint-Germain bench. Simply because he "personally feels [deserved] to continue."

"Why do I deserve it? Because I gave it my all in this season, with a lot of energy. We knew, I was able to stay the course in very, very difficult times, both personally and professionally," he added. He was referring to suspicions of racism dating from his previous season in Nice, for which an investigation is underway, and, on a sporting level, the second half of the season.

"The right analysis, which you do not want to do, is that there was a PSG before the World Cup, and a PSG post-World Cup, with very important players who for some have not played for 16, 17 games," he said, referring in particular to Neymar, injured since February.

"Catastrophic seasons are when you are not champions"

Under contract until 2024, Galtier intends to honor his second year, even if PSG is looking for coaches on the market according to many media. "Despite everything you can say, and it's your job, what you can write, despite the analyses, the remarks, the malice, the disrespect for some, there is everything that I live internally, throughout the season, and what I live in this second half of the season with my players, my leaders, there is a big gap between what the media can say and what I live on a daily basis," Galtier insisted.

"You have not spared me," he added, speaking to reporters. "We are champions of France, we won the Champions Trophy, catastrophic seasons at PSG are when you are not champion, it happened," he said. He is in a good position to know that.
