Valencia's penalty reduced for abuse against Vinicius

The Appeal Committee of the Spanish Football Federation announced today the reduction of Valencia's penalty for racist abuse of its fans towards Brazilian striker Vinicius Jr. The committee decided to close the southern stand of the Mestalla stadium for three home matches instead of five, a penalty imposed by the competitions committee of the Spanish Federation on the "bat" team on Wednesday. The committee also reduced the fine from 45,27 euros to 29,<> ($<>,<>).

Valencia hosts Espanyol on Sunday in the thirty-seventh penultimate stage of the league in an important match where the two teams are struggling to avoid relegation. Three Valencia fans were suspended after the 22-year-old Brazilian winger was abused during Sunday's 1-0 win over Madrid.
