League Cup final misses Lapa Kodjo

Top scorer in the league misses Al Ain and Sharjah summit

Al Ain coach Sergey Rebrov has settled the controversy over the possibility of Togolese international striker Lapa Kodjo participating in tomorrow's match against Sharjah in the final of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) Pro League Cup.

Rebrov said at Friday's press conference when asked about the expected absences: "The team will miss the efforts of striker Lapa Kodjo."
The "Emirates Today" indicated in its issue two days ago that striker Laba (who won the title of top scorer in the league with 28 goals) was not ready to play the match due to his lack of recovery from injury, as the player participated in the last round of the league championship despite the injury.
On the importance of winning the title of the competition for him and his team, the Ukrainian expressed his great happiness to be present for the second consecutive season in the final, stressing that Al Ain's preparations are going well and everyone is working to double efforts to achieve the goal and retain the title.
Commenting on a question about losing in two finals to Sharjah before tomorrow's match, he said: "Losing in the world of football is certainly possible, and I do not fear any team and I do not fear defeat at all and the pressures in the world of football are always present and on all members of the game, and it is my duty as a coach to work on analyzing the opponent as necessary, but we had a whole week in order to prepare for tomorrow's match and we hope that we will be in the required degree of readiness.
"The team's morale is high and the players' desire is great to win and dedicate it to Al Ain fans, and I will adopt a balanced style of play to achieve my team's goals in the final."
Khalid Issa, Al Ain goalkeeper, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the UAE Pro League and ADIB for the outstanding partnership, hoping that this elegant image will be completed in the final.
