Next Tuesday will be adopted as a new date for the 32nd Al Gaffal Race

The Supreme Organising Committee of the 32nd Al Gaffal 60ft Dhow Race has set the date for the event on Tuesday. The Grand Race is organised by the Dubai International Marine Club, which celebrates the Coral Jubilee and the club's 35th anniversary (1988-2023). The highly anticipated race will start from Sir Bu Nair Island deep in the Arabian Gulf towards the finish line of the first stage off Moon Island, and from there towards the finish line in front of the great cultural landmark, Burj Al Arab Hotel, where the participating ships are expected to sail about 53 nautical miles.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Falahi, CEO of Dubai International Marine Club, member of the Supreme Organizing Committee, said in a press statement: "The Supreme Organizing Committee chose Tuesday as the date for the race, and in the event that the race cannot be held due to weather conditions and the state of the sea, it will be postponed by one day to be held next Wednesday, according to the data."

The highly anticipated event will witness the participation of 125 ships who completed the registration procedures with the closing of registration last Tuesday, as the number of participants in the current edition, which bears the number 32, is the second largest number after the twenty-ninth edition in 2019, which witnessed the record number of participants, which reached 131.

It is worth noting that since the establishment of the event in 1991 until the thirty-first edition last year 2022, Al Gaffal races witnessed the coronation of 19 champions who won titles and won first places in the past editions, where they wrote their names in golden letters.
