Paderborn's coach Lukas Kwasniok (41) has been temporarily arrested by the police in Mallorca. Corresponding press reports were confirmed by the second-division football club on Wednesday evening. First, the "Mallorca Zeitung" had reported on the case.

Initially, neither the club nor the Spanish police said anything about the reasons for the arrest. However, the "Mallorca Zeitung" reports that Kwasniok is accused of sexual assault. Accordingly, the football coach is said to have been reported by a woman he met on the beach of Cala Ratjada.

"Lukas Kwasniok has been released unconditionally and is at large. He will return to Germany tomorrow. We are pleased that the facts of the case could be clarified so quickly," SC Paderborn 07 wrote in a tweet on Wednesday evening.

Kwasniok's lawyer, Maria Barbancho, also declined to comment on the reason for the temporary detention. "We will not make any further statements, except to refer to the content of the court's decision, which is unambiguous and which has proven us right," she told the Mallorca newspaper.
