Olympic team with China, India and Maldives in Asian Cup qualifiers
The draw for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, which was drawn today in Kuala Lumpur, placed the UAE Olympic team in Group G along with India, Maldives and China. The qualifiers will be held from 4 to 12 September with the participation of 43 teams, which have been divided into 11 groups, so that 10 groups include four teams, while there are three teams in the last group, and the matches of each group will be played in one tournament in one city system.
According to the tournament system, the top finishers in the 11 groups, in addition to the best four second-placed teams, joined by Qatar, the organizing country, will qualify for the Asian finals to participate in the finals that will be held in Doha from April 15 to May 3, 2024.
The UAE Olympic team came in the first classification along with the teams of Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Japan, Australia, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand and Jordan, where the teams were ranked according to the classification of each team in the U-23 Asian Cup, which was held in Uzbekistan in 2022, while the teams that did not participate were added as the lowest ranked.
