The Al Gaffal 60ft Dhow Race, sponsored and supported by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, is the oldest, oldest and largest heritage race in the region since its inception in 1991 as a great message from the wise leadership to successive generations, in order to revive the past of parents and grandparents whose lives were linked to the sea, the source of goodness and abundant livelihood.

The Supreme Organising Committee has approved the Burj Al Arab Hotel as the finish line for the Grand Race, which starts from Sir Bu Nair Island through Moon Island for more than 50 nautical miles to the finish line.

The organizing committee of the race, as part of its keenness to hold the race in the best conditions, has decided, based on meteorological reports and the expected state of the sea in the coming hours, to postpone the start of the race, which was scheduled from today, until a new date to be determined according to weather reports and sea data and conditions.

Founded by the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in 1991, the Al Qaffal became a heritage carnival and a maritime festival awaited by everyone as an annual date renewed every year and brings together more than 3000,50 people in the waters of the Arabian Gulf in a unique demonstration and a sports epic starting from Sir Bu Nair Island through the island of the Moon (Nioh bin Handhul) to the shores of Dubai, to travel ships more than <> nautical miles, raising their white sails (oud and pen) on the page The blue waters of the Arabian Gulf, renewing the memory of the homeland with trips back from the diving season.
