Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police honors athletics achievers

The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lieutenant General Abdullah Al Marri, honored the players with international achievements, during a ceremony honoring those with achievements and distinguished in athletics sports, organized by the Game Federation, in cooperation with Dubai Police at the Officers Club on Monday, in the presence of the President of the Federation, Major General Dr. Mohammed Al-Murr, the Executive Director of the National Olympic Committee Mohammed bin Darwish, members of the Board of the Game Federation, and representatives of clubs.
During the ceremony, Al Marri launched the new corporate identity and logo of the Athletics Federation, which is inspired by the colors of the UAE flag, and the four different sports of athletics "running, walking, jumping and throwing", in addition to the movement of lines that represent the dynamic of rising and reaching the highest goals in line with the strategy of the UAE Athletics Federation.

The list of honorees included Fatima Yousef Al Hosani, winner of the gold medal in the discus throw, a silver medal in the shot put at the Gulf Games in Kuwait, a silver medal in the shot put competition, and a bronze medal in the discus throw at the West Asian Championship organized in Qatar.
Al Marri also honored Latifa Issa Al Kaabi, who won a gold medal in the long jump competition, and a silver medal in the triple jump competition at the Gulf Games in Kuwait.
Al Marri handed over the honorary shield to the two players, Mira Ghuloom Al Mazmi and Abeer Al Balushi, who won the bronze medal in the 4×100 relay race at the Gulf Games, and Widad Ibrahim Mohammed, who won the bronze medal in the hammer throwing competition in the same championship, and the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police honored Ruqayya Al Marzouqi, who won the bronze medal in the 800-meter race at the Gulf Games, and the player Hassan Jassim, who won the gold medal in the 10000,2012 km walk in the West Asian Championship in Qatar, and the player Salem Hassan Al Balushi, winner of the silver medal in the long jump and the bronze medal in the triple jump competition at the West Asian Championships.
Al-Marri handed over the general shield for sports excellence for the female category for the 2022-122 sports season to Sharjah Sports Club for Women, while Al-Nasr Sports Games Company won the shield of general excellence because Al-Nasr Club won <> medals of various types, and obtained the shield of general excellence for sports excellence for the male category.

For his part, Mohammed Al Murr stressed during the ceremony the keenness of the UAE Athletics Federation, since its election, to work according to a clear strategy and draw a new map that seeks to achieve its main goals of creating champions representing the UAE in international forums, qualifying sports leaders in the field of athletics continentally and internationally, qualifying international referees from citizens, developing technical cadres in the field of training, and spreading this sport among all sects of society to form a daily lifestyle for them.
Murr said: "The Athletics Federation organized last season 12 local championships, in which more than 25 sports clubs and academies and more than 600 players participated, and we also participated at the level of teams in four international championships, in which the players of the team were able to achieve good achievements, as we won eight medals in the Gulf Championship and seven in the West Asian Athletics Championship, and we were able to form a new base of juniors and juniors to be the nucleus of the federation in the future. specialized training courses".
