Sharjah Stadium will host a high-calibre summit between Sharjah and Al Jazira in the second leg of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup semi-finals, after the first leg ended with Sharjah winning with a clean goal scored by Ousmane Camara. Sharjah are looking to reach the cup final for the second time in their history, while Al Jazira are looking to qualify for the fourth time. Last season, the league drew 19-35 in the first leg, and Sharjah won the second leg 3-3.
The two teams are counting on their trump cards, in Sharjah, Romanian Cosmin is betting on Spanish striker Alcacer, Brazilian Luan Pereira, and Guinean Camara along with Bonsi Pjanic. On the island, Dutch coach Marcel Kaiser will push Ali Mabkhout, Brazilian Bruno de Oliveira and South African Tolani Seriro and Abdullah Ramadan. According to official statistics issued by the Pro League, seven previous meetings between them have the two teams equalized in the Professional Cup with three wins each, and a draw in only one.
This match is a new challenge between the coaches of Sharjah and Al Jazeera, in search of a new achievement, especially for Cosmin, who seeks to achieve his fourth title with Sharjah and his third this season, while Kayers is looking to save his season with Al Jazira by winning the title of this tournament. Al Jazira have lost once in their last 11 Pro Cup encounters (won 4 – tied 6), and similarly Sharjah have lost once in their last 12 (won 5 – drawn 6).
