  • American Brandon McNulty (UAE) won the 15th stage of the Giro d'Italia on Sunday in Bergamo after another long-distance breakaway. He finished ahead of Ireland's Ben Healy (EF Education) and Italy's Marco Friho (Israel PT) in the sprint.

  • This year, the first of the general classification are so far content with a marking to the panties and visibly wait for the third week very mountainous, from Tuesday, to launch the big fight. This freeze of hostilities also benefits Bruno Armirail, who defended his tunic without worry. He will be able to admire it throughout the rest day on Monday.

  • Brest, winner of Clermont (2-1) Sunday on the 36th day, has definitively validated its maintenance in Ligue 1 while Strasbourg, held in check at Troyes (1-1), will still have to wait to ensure its rescue among the elite. Two days before the end of the season, the Brest (14th) can finally breathe thanks to their precious success, the 5th in a row at home, on two goals from Franck Honorat and Steve Mounié.

  • Put under pressure by the return of Lyon and by the victory of Lille on Saturday, Rennes responded well on Sunday by going to correct Ajaccio (5-0), already relegated and at the end of the roll, and thus remains fully engaged in the race for Europe.

  • The rain, which disrupted much of the twelve days of the Masters/WTA 1000 in Rome, invited itself again on Sunday afternoon, delaying the final between the Russian Daniil Medvedev and the Danish Holger Rune.

  • Failing to accomplish the feat of winning the Euroleague, AS Monaco wrote a small page in its history by finishing on the podium, 30 years after the last French club (Limoges titled in 1993), by beating Barça (78-66) Sunday in Kaunas (Lithuania) in the match for 3rd place.

  • The Stade Rochelais sewed a second star on its jersey by winning a new Champions Cup despite a catastrophic start to the match on Saturday in Dublin, at the expense of the Irish Leinster (27-26).

  • The Maritimes overcame an Irish three-try deficit in the first twelve minutes (17-0) to go for this second continental crown in a row and settle at the table of the greats.

  • After Danty's try (20th), that of center UJ Seuteni (38th) put the French back within reach just before the break (23-14). The Rochelle waves then swept over the Leinster defence, courageous but in agony, until the left pillar Georges-Henri Colombe (72nd) made it yield.

  • Toulon, after four lost finals, broke the Indian sign by winning the Challenge Cup at the expense of the Glasgow Scots (43-19), Friday in Dublin, thus winning the last title that was still missing to the Var club.

  • Lille won 2 goals to 1 at home against Marseille, who remain third in the standings, Saturday night in the 36th matchday of Ligue 1.

  • A return to Ligue 2 continues to take shape for Nantes, still relegable and without spring after its heavy defeat at home 3-0 against Montpellier, Saturday in the 36th matchday of Ligue 1. They are still only one point behind Auxerre, the first non-relegable who hosts PSG on Sunday night, but the defeated mines of the players and the whistles in the stands say a lot about the hopes of straightening the bar next week in Lille or on the last day against Angers.

  • After opening the scoring in the first minute, Monaco lost on the field of Lyon (3-1), Friday in the opening of the 36th day of Ligue 1, and made a cross on the podium while remaining under the threat of Lille for the 4th place.

  • Manchester City took advantage of Arsenal's defeat against Nottingham Forest (1-0) to retain its title of champion of England even before its match against Chelsea on Sunday and thus confirm its undivided domination over English football. With four points behind and only one game to play, the Gunners are mathematically out of reach of City who still have three games on the schedule.

  • Bruno Armirail became the first Frenchman since Laurent Jalabert in 1999 to wear the pink leader's jersey of the Giro d'Italia on Saturday at the end of the 14th stage where the Groupama-FDJ rider was part of the breakaway. The time trial France champion, who finished in a small group 50 seconds behind the day's winner, Germany's Nico Denz, takes the overall lead with just under two minutes ahead of Britain's Geraint Thomas, who came far behind in the pack of favourites.

  • Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina (world No. 6) won the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome on Saturday after Anhelina Kalinina of Ukraine withdrew at the start of the second set in the final. Rybakina had won the first set 6-4 and was leading 1-0 in the second when the Ukrainian, a surprising finalist on the Roman clay, sat in her chair and called a doctor. Injured in the left thigh, according to the WTA, she finally gave up, in tears, and went to greet Rybakina, who succeeds the list to the Polish Iga Swiatek.

  • These Nuggets seem too strong for the Lakers! Still carried by Jamal Murray to 37 points and Nikola Jokic, thunderous in the last quarter, they won (118-109) Saturday in the playoffs in Los Angeles to find themselves one victory away from a first NBA final. After 55 years of existence and four failures in the Western Conference finals, Denver has never been closer to the goal.

  • Despite their heavy defeat against Sweden (4-0), the French hockey players secured Saturday their maintenance in the elite World Championship thanks to the setback of Austria against Finland (3-1) earlier in the day. No more scenario can condemn the France team, currently sixth in Group A, to last place and therefore to the descent. But the quarter-finals, which Philippe Bozon's men have not reached since 2014, have also moved away.
