Godolphin's First Mission seeks the crown of the American Brikness Stakes

First Mission under trainer Brad Cox is looking to gift Godolphin a second victory in three years in a round of the U.S. Triple Crown when First Mission takes on the Grade One Breakness Stakes over 1900,2021m on clay today at Pimelco, Maryland. First Mission is looking to follow in the footsteps of Essential Quality, who gifted the royal emblem their first victory in a classic triple crown round when they won the <> Belmont Stakes.

First Mission is challenging its first G1 debut and faces elite dirt tracks, led by this year's Kentucky Derby champion Meg under trainer Gustavo Delgado. Michael Banahan, director of racehorse production at Godolphin USA, commented on the preparations for First Mission, saying in press statements: "First Mission training went great in preparation for the Breknis race, and his last two exercises in Churchill were special."

On the other hand, Modern Games for Godolphin, trained by Charlie Appleby, is preparing to add his fifth title in the first category, when he seeks the title of the Loking Stakes, which takes place today over a distance of 1600 meters turf at the prestigious British track «Newbury» Britain.
