Hamdan Sports Complex announced that it has achieved significant growth in the sports organized in it annually, through various tournaments, events and camps, during the period from 2021 to 2023, as the number of sports organized annually increased to 28 Olympic and non-Olympic sports, in addition to many community events, and hosted many camps of Olympic champions and world champions who chose the complex to be their training headquarters in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics and the upcoming world championships, including winners of three gold medals and five Silvers at the Olympics, led by South African swimmer Chad Lee Clough, Japanese swimmer Ri Kanto, and Danish badminton champion Viktor Axelsen, as well as winners of nine gold medals at the World Championships, three silvers and bronze, led by French diving star Gary Hunt, Russian rhythmic swimmer Anastasia Akhibovskaya, and many other stars.

This came during the second meeting of the Board of Directors of Hamdan Sports Complex, which falls under the umbrella of the Dubai Sports Council, and the meeting was held at the headquarters of the Dubai Sports Council, chaired by Ahmed Al Shafar, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and in the presence of Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Vice Chairman, and the rest of the members. Al Shafar stressed that Hamdan Mall continued to achieve growth in results at the level of increasing events and attracting more athletes, and continued to reduce expenses in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, and the direct supervision of Mattar Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Council, to optimize the investment of self-resources, and the application of best practices in the management of the complex, in order to achieve a continuous increase in the growth of events and resources, and to innovate successful ways to increase revenues, enhance operational performance, and host more Various events.

The meeting reviewed the work plan during the coming period, and the list of the many events and tournaments that the complex will host, which number up to 45 international and local championships until the end of this year, representing 10% of the number of events organized in the Emirate of Dubai, as well as reviewing the programs of the various sports academies based in the complex, and the list of camps of clubs and foreign teams that wish to train at the complex in preparation for the upcoming tournaments, foremost of which is the Paris 2024 Olympics. Cooperation between the complex and various government agencies in the country increased to 16 institutions. In the first quarter of this year, 28 sports were organized at the complex, including swimming, fencing, gymnastics, karting, cycling, running, badminton, triathlon, basketball and volleyball, karate, boxing, weightlifting, and other sports.

Hamdan Sports Complex has hosted the camps of several Olympic champions, including South African swimmer Chad Lee Clough.
