Jordi Cruyff announces departure from Barcelona

Jordi Cruyff, son of the late Dutch football legend Johan, announced on Tuesday that he would stop his duties as director of football at the Spanish club Barcelona at the end of his contract at the end of the season.
Barcelona said in a statement about Jordi (49 years old), who defended the colors of the "Blaugrana" for several seasons in the nineties, "Jordi Cruyff will not renew his contract at the end of the season, for his desire to engage in new professional projects."
"That's what I told this morning to club president Joan Laporta, in an emotional meeting in which Cruyff discussed his departure in search of new challenges after two seasons at Barcelona."
"The club thanks Jordi Cruyff for his important contribution as a member of the sports committee and wishes him all the best in his new professional career."
Jordi, who was appointed to his post in September 2021, was closer to the first team than sporting director Mateo Alemany, who announced earlier this month his departure from the Catalan club on the first of next July.
