New season calendar announced next week

The Executive Director of the Pro League, Waleed Al Hosani, confirmed that the calendar of the new season 2023-2024 is scheduled to be announced next week, pointing out that it has been tentatively

The season will start in August. Al Hosani told Emirates Today that the current season has achieved many successes, explaining: "The technical level has risen significantly, especially since the technical differences between the clubs have shrunk, so the competition was strong between more than one team for the title, but at the same time it cannot be said that the experience or season is 100% successful."

He added: "We always strive to develop and reach the best, and the negatives that occurred will be discussed to avoid and treat them in the next season." As for the calendar of the new season, he said: «The technical committee held a workshop with the clubs, and some dates were put forward informally, as the season is expected to start next August, as it is scheduled to be officially announced for the approved dates next week».

Regarding the most prominent challenges that the Pro League will face in the new season, especially as it will witness the holding of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar, he said: "These challenges we are used to every season, due to the agenda of the continental and Gulf championships, the calendar of the International Federation, in addition to the Arab Championship, and we as a team work according to specific controls, through which we maintain the mechanism for choosing the dates of the matches of local competitions, and that they are held at a time suitable for the public, and that we reduce the process of stopping the competition, which is beyond our control."

The start of the next season is tentatively scheduled for August.
