As every year now and on the sidelines of the International Day against Homophobia, May 17, the teams of L1 and L2 honor a campaign on a championship day around this date. Flocking and rainbow armbands are required, among others. These jerseys are then to be auctioned for the benefit of the associations Foot Ensemble, PanamBoyz & Girlz United and SOS Homophobie.
According to Le Télégramme, Guingamp's defender, Donatien Gomis, refused to take part in this operation. "Donatien Gomis has announced his choice not to wear this jersey. We have taken note of this," confirmed Fred Le Grand, president of the club.
Gomis will be absent from the Breton squad this Saturday, on the occasion of the 35th matchday of Ligue 2. Last year, former Parisian Idrissa Gueye boycotted a match against Montpellier for the same reasons.
