3.25 million tickets have already been sold for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which necessarily attracts the greed of crooks, reports Le Parisien this Thursday. Indeed, the gendarmerie specialized in cybercrime announced that it had identified and dismantled 44 websites for fraudulent ticket resale. The police have stopped the activity of 21 of them last April and about twenty others since the beginning of May.

The gendarmerie calls for vigilance regarding these unofficial websites, which are "much more organized and professional" than the classic resale of single tickets on social networks. The best done ones look like an official ticket office and do not include spelling mistakes that can sow doubt. It is difficult to trace the perpetrators of these scam sites, although the gendarmerie could request Interpol's assistance if the problem persists.

Packs at 6,000 euros

"We are convinced that people have already bought many places to make capital gains," explains to our colleagues the captain of the Comcybergend (Command of the gendarmerie in cyberspace). "But the risk of these illegal resales is above all to buy vacuum! In recent days, we have seen packages for sale for 6,000 euros, without any certainty that the tickets offered by this site really exist! » . The captain advises to be particularly wary of tickets sold at discounted prices, often scams.

Advice to take into account today, since the second phase of sales for the Olympics has just been launched. Those drawn at random can now try to acquire single places. Among the 1.5 million tickets on offer, tickets for some finals or for the opening ceremony of the event.
