Jiu-Jitsu champion Zayed Al Katheeri: My upcoming engagements with the national team capture my attention

Zayed Al Katheeri, player of the national jiu-jitsu team, confirmed that his upcoming foreign commitments with the national team are what occupies him the most currently, as he hopes to continue winning titles and standing on the podiums with the UAE national team. Al Kathiri pointed out that winning the new gold medal in the Grand Slam tournaments doubled his responsibility during the coming period to maintain the level he achieved in all its rounds during 2023, as he won 4 colored medals (3 gold, and one silver), the most recent of which was the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Championship.

Al Kathiri said: "I am proud to be the first Emirati player to obtain a black belt in the weight of 56 kg, it was not easy, but it was the result of continuous work and daily training in the morning and evening." Al Katheeri, who won gold in the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship last year, and a graduate of the Jiu-Jitsu school program, explained that the program has made a qualitative leap in spreading the game and increasing the number of players in various weights, which put the UAE on the map of the most prominent and important countries that support and practice the game, a position it deserves thanks to the support of the wise leadership, and its constant keenness on the excellence of its children.

He stated: "Jiu-Jitsu started in 2017 through the school project, and during this period, thanks to the continuous support of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, I became on the right track in the game, and this was reflected in all the details of my personal life, whether from the quality of food, discipline in time and others.
