Dubai Snow Run kicks off in its fourth edition on 21 January

Dubai Sports Council has announced the details of the fourth edition of the Dubai Snow Run, which will be held in collaboration with Ski Dubai on May 21 at the Snow Hall in Mall of the Emirates, in which participants will compete in two categories over a distance of 3 and 5 kilometers. Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, and Mohammed Al Otri, Vice President Global Snow Projects at Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment, spoke today at the Ice Cinema at Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates, in the presence of Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council.

Saeed Hareb said: "We are proud of this unique event, which started in Dubai and has become a very popular event for those wishing to participate in it. It contributes to strengthening Dubai's position as a global sports hub and a preferred destination for snow sports in the region, in line with the vision of the wise leadership to position Dubai at the forefront of the world in various fields, and to confirm its attractiveness as the best city to live, work and visit, with its distinctive lifestyle that gives everyone the opportunity to practice all sports, including snow sports."

The event contributes to the promotion of sports tourism in Dubai by providing a unique and unprecedented experience of snow running inside an indoor hall with temperatures of minus 4 degrees below zero while everyone is looking for cool places in the summer, encouraging participants to enjoy this special atmosphere.

Mohammed Al Otri said: "In line with Dubai's vision to become the most active city in the world, Ski Dubai, in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council, hosts a diverse calendar of exciting and innovative activities from around the world, contributing to participation in sporting events, encouraging members of the community of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of sports in a healthy and sporty lifestyle, while Ski Dubai is an ideal destination for diners to stay fit during the summer months."

Al Otri added: "More than 500 participants participate in the race, competing in four different categories of men and women, including professional, amateur, community and team categories. Preparing and raising their levels and representing the state in international forums."
The press conference to announce the event witnessed the presentation of a group of talented Emirati and different nationalities residing in the country sponsored by Ski Dubai, who are provided with support and training to develop their levels and represent the country by participating in local and international tournaments.

Participation in the Dubai Snow Run provides the opportunity for all members of the community of all nationalities and all physical levels, amateurs and professionals from inside and outside the country, aged 15 to 70, to run on the slopes of Ski Dubai, which was recently awarded the 'Best Entertainment-Based Sport/Adventure' award at the Middle East and North Africa Leisure and Attractions Council (MENALAC) Awards 2023.

The annual race, which kicked off in Dubai in 2020, is witnessing an increasing turnout from different groups, ages and nationalities through successive editions, and last year's edition saw the participation of around 500 people of different nationalities.
