Jiu-Jitsu and space champion Sultan Al Neyadi is present at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Championship

Mubadala Arena has a new look titled "From the Rug to the Stars" and painted on its walls a symbol of ambition and the impossible on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu Championship organized by the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Association (AJP), in many stations around the world, it returned with its final tour to the capital, "Abu Dhabi", where the impact of the Emirati Jiu-Jitsu champion and astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi was great on the attendees and players after he posted a video clip on his social media platforms, wearing a jiu-jitsu uniform known as kimono, inside a station International space, and carried out a number of jiu-jitsu movements, considering this sport an example to follow to reach the desired goal, it helped Sultan Al Neyadi, who holds a purple belt in jiu-jitsu, to achieve his maximum achievements when he lived aboard the International Space Station.

Through the clip, he asked the audience to share their favorite jiu-jitsu moves with him and he would show them to them in space later. He then added in the video posted on his Instagram and Twitter page: "One of the first things I learned in Jiu-Jitsu was to control the way I breathe and stay calm, and that's exactly what I did during the centrifugation experience. Jiu-Jitsu helped me overcome that."
In another photo published by Al Neyadi, who won the title of champion of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi in 2018, coinciding with the opening of the tournament, he was keen to greet his friends players who are preparing to participate in the tournament this year and encourage them to compete on the same platform that Sultan won the gold medal after four fights, noting that his success in space and endurance was a big reason for jiu-jitsu.

This historic achievement is the pride of all Jiu-Jitsu practitioners around the world, especially the children and youth who were touched by Sultan Al Neyadi's story. On the first day of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi, our team interviewed the children who participated in the weekend competitions of the tournament, and they were very excited to have a Jiu-Jitsu representative in space and this very important moment was recorded for generations.

When we asked the children participating in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam what they knew about Major Sultan Al Neyadi, one of the children expressed his great admiration for him, saying: "I love Jiu-Jitsu very much and I want to become a champion like Sultan Al Neyadi. His story has influenced my life and inspired me to work hard and achieve my dreams, and I am sure Jiu-Jitsu will help me be strong and patient when I achieve my dream of going to space." This kind of positive impact of Jiu-Jitsu championships and the achievements of their athletes on children and youth is an indication of the importance of sports and its impact on the development of young personalities and achieving their ambitions.
