Manchester City recapture De Bruyne ahead of Leeds clash

Manchester City coach Josep Guardiola revealed that Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne may return to face the wounded Leeds United on Saturday in the Premier League, after recovering from injury. De Bruyne missed City's wins over Fulham and West Ham after suffering an unspecified injury, during the victory over former leaders Arsenal on April 26.

The Belgian midfielder returned to training on Thursday as his Spanish coach felt pushing him this weekend at the Etihad Stadium would not be a risk: "He trained yesterday, trained well. We train today and decide after that." The coach told reporters: "It's okay to be away for a week or ten days at this time of the season. The same thing happened with Nathan (Dutch defender Aké). If he's in good shape, he can play."

City are looking for a third consecutive title and a fifth in their last six league seasons. They can move four points clear of Arsenal if they beat seventeenth-placed Leeds struggling to avoid relegation. In turn, Arsenal, a point away from leaders City and played a game more, on a difficult journey on Sunday to the ground of Newcastle third, in a round that could determine the features of the end of the league. City are also looking for a historic treble, with reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League where they will face the defending champions Real Madrid, and the final of the prestigious English Cup where arch-rivals Manchester United await them.
