Al Ahly celebrated the Egyptian Super Cup title for the 13th time in the UAE after beating Pyramids by a goal to zero in a match that lasted for two extra periods, and was held at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The match was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Director of the Special Patrols Department and General Supervisor of Police Heritage in Abu Dhabi Police, as well as Egypt's Ambassador to the UAE Sherif Issa, President of the Egyptian Football Association Gamal Allam, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council Aref Al Awani, Secretary General of the UAE Football Association Mohammed bin Hazam Al Dhaheri, President of Pyramids Club Salem Al Shamsi, and Head of Mission of Al Ahly Club, Dr. Muhannad Magdy.

Al Ahli owes this victory to Tunisian Ali Maaloul, who scored the only goal of the meeting from a penalty kick in the 96th minute. Al Ahly started the match better than Pyramids, but lacked offensive effectiveness in the final third.

The confrontation took another turn after 15 minutes, when Pyramids began threatening Mohamed El-Shenawy's goal on more than one occasion, the most dangerous of which was Ahmed Tawfik's shot.
