Messi's next destination between Barcelona, the Saudi league and the United States

After high signs of his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, veteran Argentine star Lionel Messi has a range of options between Saudi Arabia, the United States and even his old club Barcelona eager to bring him back despite the financial difficulties of a similar move. With his contract with Saint-Germain nearing the end of his contract, which suspended him for several days for traveling to Saudi Arabia without approval, Spanish newspapers continue to talk about Messi's return to his former team Barcelona. Messi dreams of returning to Catalonia at the age of thirty-six, and the Camp Nou fans still hold on to that hope: on several occasions over the past weeks, the club's fans have resounded the name of the icon Messi.

But the process is complicated for Barcelona, due to financial concerns. According to the daily "Mundo Deportivo", the club is still waiting for the approval of the Spanish league on the "feasibility plan" that includes the extension of players Gavi, Uruguayan Ronald Araujo, Marcos Alonso and Sergi Roberto, in addition to the return of Messi.

But to be able to register players without exceeding the salary cap, Barcelona must cut their spending by €200 million. One of Barcelona's first decisions towards this goal was the closure of its TV channel Barça TV on 30 June. According to the club, the channel loses 13 million euros a year, but according to employees, many of whom will find themselves unemployed, the losses do not exceed six million euros.

The second and most important option is Saudi Arabia, and Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may be reunited and a potential bid to host World Cup in the coming years, but the Kingdom is able to achieve it given its great financial capabilities. Messi is already under contract with the Saudi Tourism Authority to market it on social media, and this was the subject of Messi and his family's trip to Saudi Arabia that led to his suspension from the Qatari-owned club. There are doubts about the possibility of Messi joining the Saudi league, and the reconstitution of a duel with Ronaldo after the one that caught the breath of viewers in Spain when the "Don" was carrying the colors of Real Madrid.

Several reports have recently suggested that Al Hilal have made an attractive offer for the seven-time world player of the year, which could reach €400 million a year to bring in the world champion crowned last December in Qatar.

The third option is the United States, which is strongly unlikely, as there is a new challenge for Messi at Inter Miami, in Florida in the North American championship that has always included South American stars at the end of their careers, such as Brazilian Kaka, Argentine Gonzalo Higuain or currently Brazilian Douglas Costa.

This option helps bring the family closer to Miami where Messi has a solid base. Former Saint-Germain player David Beckham is one of the club's franchise owners, and the former Manchester United star recently appeared at the Cannes de Logue PSG training centre, taking pictures with the Argentine.
Inter Miami coach Phil Neville said at the end of February: "I don't deny that there is some truth in rumours of interest in Lionel Messi. It's going to be a huge addition for the North American League."
