Manchester City are once again top of the table in England and Erling Haaland is the Premier League's record scorer with 35 goals ahead of the season finale. Haaland scored his 3th goal in the English elite league in the 0rd game in Wednesday's 0-0 (35-33) win over West Ham United – a feat no player has ever achieved. The record stood at 34 goals scored by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer.

"He's incredible. He's only 22 – and he still has five games to go," said Haaland's coach Pep Guardiola. The Norwegian striker replaced Cole (1993/94) and Shearer (1994/95) as previous record holders. "We expected him to score goals, but for him to break Cole and Shearer's records..." England's football icon Gary Lineker commented on Haaland's historic performance on Twitter with the words: "This is crazy", and the league also congratulated the former Dortmund player. "My thoughts are with Alan Shearer at this difficult time," Lineker said ironically.

City again ahead of Arsenal in Premier League

Thanks to the clear success in the catch-up game against West Ham United, Guardiola's team overtook Arsenal again and now have a one-point lead over the team from London as the leaders. The Bayern conqueror in the Champions League has also played one game less than the challenger.

Dutchman Nathan Aké (50'), Haaland (70') and Phil Foden (85') scored the goals for the hosts. Arsenal FC had temporarily ousted the Cityzens from the top spot with a 3-1 win against Chelsea FC on Tuesday evening.

Liverpool FC came to a home win against Fulham FC. In the 1-0 (1-0) victory, Mohamed Salah (39th/foul penalty) scored the goal. Liverpool are now just four points away from fourth-placed Manchester United.

For Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp, it could have been the last game on the bench for the time being because of his referee criticism after last Sunday's 4-3 home win against Tottenham Hotspur. As a repeat offender, he is threatened with a severe fine or even a ban. Klopp has until Friday to present his view of things in a statement to the English Football Association (FA).
