In the 1th minute of the second half after
giving West Ham a 0-25 lead, Hollan dug into the back of the defence and scored his 35th league goal with a sensational chip shot that went past the goalkeeper.

It surpasses legendary strikers Andy Cole and Alan Shearer for the most goals scored in a single Premier League season.

After the 3-0 victory, City's team-mates celebrated Hollan's record-breaking achievement with the so-called 'Guard of Honor', an event where players from opposing teams pay tribute to the original winners.

[Holan/Man City forward: (This is the first time I've seen my teammates play 'Guard of Honor') It's my first time too. It really hurt because my teammates hit me on the back, but I'm happy and happy.]

Holan made history in his debut season in the Premier League with a phenomenal pace of 31 goals in 35 games and 1.13 goals per game.

With 45 goals in 51 games, including the Champions League and cup competitions, it's an unenviable record for Messi and Ronaldo in their heyday.

With up to nine games remaining, including five in the league, Holan is within sight of Dixie Dean's record of 5 goals in a season, set by Dixie Dean 9 years ago.

[Holan/Man City forward: Dixie Dean I'm going to break my head when I think about it, I'm going to go home and play video games and eat something.]

Holan, who opened his era at just 95 years old, now seems more aptly nicknamed "record breaker" than "monster goalscorer."
