LEINSTER V TOULOUSE (KICK-OFF AT 16PM)

THE ESSENTIALS

  • Stade Toulousain travels to Dublin this Saturday (16pm) in the semi-finals of the Champions Cup. The match will be broadcast on France 2 and beIN Sports 3.
  • This is the same poster at the Aviva Stadium as in 2019 and 2022, at the same level of the competition. The first two times, Toulouse lost heavily (30-12 and 40-17).
  • Even without iconic opener Jonathan Sexton and winger James Lowe, the Irish are favourites to reach the final, which will also take place in Dublin on May 20.

08:30 am: Good morning, rugby fans or simply curious and curious

Because yes, if there is only one match between clubs (more precisely, between province and club) to see this season, it is this one. The road to Dublin passes through Dublin for both Leinster and Stade Toulousain. In other words, to hope to play the final of the Champions Cup on May 20 at the Aviva Stadium, against La Rochelle or Exeter (answer Sunday), you must first win the semi-final, this Saturday in the same Aviva Stadium. Well, the task is a priori more helped for the Irish province, which plays at home as in 8th and quarter, thanks to its first place in the group stage. Opposite, Toulouse is a terror in the Top 14, but much less comfortable in the Dublin temple.

Ugo Mola's team has already tried twice to win a half and it has had problems: Leinster beat it in 2019 (30-12), then last season (40-17). But hey, go find out... Leinster are without two stars on injury, strategist Jonathan Sexton and winger James Lowe, while the Toulouse stars arrive much less flushed than in 2022 after the Grand Slam of the XV of France.

Because it's time to calm down the Irish a bit, as the World Cup approaches, we'll meet at 15:30 p.m.
