The textual chronicle

At 18.45 Roma takes the field in Rotterdam in a Feyenoord stadium completely devoid of Giallorossi supporters. The last time the two teams met in the Conference League final played on May 25 in Tirana and won by José Mourinho's team 1-0. The Dutch club in recent days has released a statement in which it is announced that, "following the decision of the Italian authorities to exclude Feyenoord fans during the return to Rome, UEFA has ordered Feyenoord not to sell tickets to AS Roma fans for the first leg at DeKuip" (the nickname of the Feijenoord stadium which means "the pool"). From Rotterdam, however, comes a letter published on the social networks of Feijenoorder, the association of fans of the Dutch team: "Stop criminalizing football fans. Feyenoord will play their first match against AS Roma. Extreme measures have been taken to keep Feyenoord and Roma fans away from these matches. The local authorities in Rome have imposed with a special decree that all Dutch people are not welcome during the match between AS Roma and Feyenoord. Mainly for one reason: on the same day there is an inspection of the city by a committee for the Universal Exposition. Something that has nothing to do with football. On the basis of reciprocity, UEFA then ordered that AS Roma fans could not attend Rotterdam. Many reproaches have been levelled by the city of Rome for coming to this imprudent decision. Extreme measures are taken on the basis of inaccuracies, half-truths and assumptions." In 2015, however, Feyenoord fans vandalized Bernini's "Barcaccia" in Piazza di Spagna, a work of extraordinary artistic value. And despite the arrest of six Dutch fans for the clashes in Plaza de España, the Amsterdam government refused to pay damages.

Here Feyenoord

Feyenoord is going through an extraordinary phase. Between the league and the Dutch Cup he has won 11 consecutive games, and is the leader in the Eredivisie, the first division of the Netherlands, with eight points more than Ajax. In the knockout rounds of the Europa League, the Rotterdam team overcame Shakhtar Donetsk thanks to a 1-1 draw in the first leg and a 7-1 victory in the second leg.

Here Rome

Roma is also experiencing a positive moment. In Serie A they have won their last two games, 0-1 against Torino and 3-0 with Sampdoria, and eliminated Real Sociedad in the Europa League round of 2 thanks to a 0-0 win at the Olimpico and a 0-<> away win. The Rotterdam match in any case will not be affected by the dislocation of the shoulder reported by Ola Solbakken, who was not on the UEFA list and therefore would not have played anyway. In attack, Belotti and Abraham play for the starting shirt. For the rest, the eleven who beat Torino should be confirmed, with the return of Pellegrini, while Matic who should replace Cristante in midfield.
