Defending champions RB Leipzig will face Bayern conquerors SC Freiburg in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup. VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt will contest the second duel for a place in the final. This was the result of the draw by national handball coach Alfred Gislason on Sunday at the German Football Museum in Dortmund. Last year, Leipzig won on penalties in the final against Freiburg.
The Saxons had qualified on Wednesday by a 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund for the semi-finals. SC Freiburg surprisingly defeated record cup winners FC Bayern 2-1 away on Tuesday.
The semi-finals will take place on 2 and 3 May, the final in Berlin's Olympic Stadium will take place on 3 June.
