• This weekend is the 120th edition of Paris-Roubaix for men and the 3rd for women.
  • During the 1st edition of the women, the British Lizzie Deignan had received only 1,535 euros, which had caused a scandal.
  • The winner of the men's edition of Paris-Roubaix wins €30,000 (total prize fund of €90,000).

Even if they have been revised upwards, the bonuses of the winner of the Paris-Roubaix women still do not reach those of her counterpart in the men's category. In 2022, ASO, the organizing company of the event, considered that the 1535 euros won by Lizzie Deignan in 2021 were not up to her feat. It then decided to increase the premium scale and stabilize it in 2023.

From now on, the one who will climb on the highest step of the podium will receive the sum of 20,000 euros (13 times more than in 2021). Its total endowment will amount to 50,000 euros.

The race director of the Tour de France femmes considers that the enthusiasm around cycling is increasing and that prices must follow. However, he hopes it won't be superficial. Even if the economic model is fragile, this revaluation proves a step forward in women's sport in general, and in cycling in particular.

Here are the bonuses of the riders who come first in the Paris-Roubaix men's race:

  • Winner: 30,000 euros
  • 2nd: 22 000 €
  • 3nd: 15 000 €
  • 4nd: 7 500 €
  • 5nd: 3 200 €
  • 6nd: 1 700 €
  • 7nd: 1 500 €
  • 8nd: 1 300 €
  • 9nd: 1 200 €
  • 10nd: 1 100 €
